Frequently asked questions
What is a VSD Vector AC Drive?
A VSD (Variable Speed Drive) or Vector AC Drive controls the speed and torque of an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage of the power supplied to it. Closed-loop vector control provides precise speed regulation even at low RPM.
What power ranges do you offer?
We stock VSDs from 0.4kW up to 315kW. Single-phase 220V models (0.42.2kW) and three-phase 380V models (0.75315kW). We also supply permanent magnet motors up to 12kW.
What is the difference between a standard motor and a permanent magnet motor?
Permanent magnet motors (PMEM) use rare earth magnets in the rotor, offering higher efficiency (IE4), better power density, and longer life compared to standard induction motors.
Do you deliver to Botswana, Zimbabwe or Namibia?
Yes, we ship VSDs and motors to all SADC countries. Contact us for a shipping quote to your location.
